Thermal baths
Bük world famous. Guests are able to bathe in the tranquil setting of 35 hectares of landscaped gardens owned by Büki Gyógyfürdő Rt in one of their 9 open and 4 covered as well as a 50×20 m swimming pool. The thermal waters gush forth from a depth of 1282.
A water temperature of 56°C means that it is classed as a thermal spring and the fact that it contains dissolved salts mean that it is classed as alkaline calcareous hydrocarbonated water. It has a concentration of free carbon dioxide over 1000 mg which means that it meets the international requirements for a carbonated spring. Its high concentrations of calcium, magnesium, hydrocarbonate and carbon dioxide mean that it can be used for both bathing and drinking cures.
A study of its effectiveness as a drinking cure for patients with catarrhal inflammations and gall bladder complaints showed a significant improvement. The thermal waters can also be successfully used to reduce tendon, muscle and back pain for those with motor disorders and degenerative muscular conditions.
